Over the past couple of years we’ve seen many great earphones come out of the China’s thriving audio scene. Most of the ones that have achieved prominence on Head-Fi have done so by offering great sound quality for the asking price but the Dunu Ares and Crius take a slightly different approach. These earphones offer nearly unprecedented attention to detail - when it comes to build quality, packaging, and accessories very few competing offerings compare to the Dunu models. It’s a refreshing take on providing value to the end consumer that, unfortunately, is limited by the derivative nature of the design. However, there are few earphones I am looking forward to more than Dunu’s upcoming releases – with slightly different tuning Dunu could easily provide a great value, not just a good one.
Hey Head-Fi,
I'm spending some quality time with the Ares right now. So far I've only gone through the new album by Bon Iver (so no burn in time), but so far they sound pretty gooooooood. Just thought you all should know. We'll be giving these away fairly soon, too, but that's another story for another day.
