what is Chakra-Healing?
Chakras are the psychic centers of the body, the centers of activity of the subtle life force - sushumna prana (subtle prana). These centers are connected to each other and to the physical body by the sympathetic, parasympathetic, and autonomic nervous systems. They are active all the time, regardless of whether the person realizes it or not. The energy moving through the chakras causes various mental states. In Sanskrit, the word "chakra" means circle and circular movement. The word "chakra" is also used to refer to the wheel. They can be thought of as the wheels of the mind, moving it through the wilds of desire. Like wheels, desires themselves are also a huge driving force. Each chakra represents a place of consistent manifestation of desires. A person wanders through this more often of desires all his life and comprehends various circumstances in terms of the chakra in which he usually feels best. They help a person to observe himself and see the energy moving through various mental nerves. Religious practices such as fasting, charity, and selfless service to others cause energy to rise in the higher centers; coiled in rings and dormant in the muladhara chakra ("muladhara" - means "root", "base") energy becomes active and begins its ascent. After its flow reaches the higher centers, the practitioner changes completely - this sensation is invariably compared with a new birth.
